Ernie Rowell was born in Auburn, Alabama
and grew up in nearby Loachapoka. So, it was only natural that he attend
Auburn University when he graduated high school. And that he did, but upon
gaining his college degree he beat a quick path to Nashville,
Tennessee to pursue his life-long dream of being a part of the music
business.
He had played and sung with local bands, but there was nothing like the lure of the Grand Ole Opry and working with superstars like George Jones, Ray Price, and Mel Tillis. Ernie spent a total of eleven years with these three, performing for audiences in all the United States, the provinces of Canada, and several other countries.
Ernie has enjoyed some secular chart success on his own, and as a songwriter has been recorded by George Jones, Kenny Rogers, Mel Tillis, Ricky Van Shelton, Johnny Paycheck and Gene Watson, among others.
However, all this was just a prelude to his "new beginning" with Christian Country. He first began by writing Christian songs with country arrangements, drawing from his early up-bringing in the Methodist Church in Loachapoka. Later, he decided to record some of them, and the Lord has blessed his work with eight straight singles reaching the top of the Christian Country Charts (CCRB)!
Ernie's first CD/Cassette release, In His Will, is
loaded with other super songs he and his co-writers put together.
Especially interesting are the titles "Safe At Home
," and
"Cross examination
." "Family Man
" is a
great song encouraging men to keep a strong relationship with their family
and the Lord. "Here I am
" is
powerful in helping people take that first step to a walk with our Lord.
This project is sure to place Ernie as a mainstay in the center of the
Christian Country movement. Order your copy of In His Will
